Offices in Baxter Village, Lake Wylie, & Rock Hill

About Us
Our firm was founded on May 23rd, 2011, when Craig set out to build a practice rooted in dedication and community. We opened our first office in Fort Mill, laying the foundation for what would become a growing presence across York County. As our client base expanded, so did our reach—our Lake Wylie office opened in 2016, followed by our Rock Hill office in 2018. Today, with three locations serving Fort Mill, Lake Wylie, and Rock Hill, we remain committed to the same values that inspired our start: personal attention, local roots, and a genuine commitment to the communities we serve.

Mission
At Johannesmeyer Law, we know a real estate closing is about more than paperwork. It’s a big moment, and having an attorney you can trust makes a difference. As local attorneys rooted in this community, we bring the personalized, face-to-face guidance every homebuyer and seller deserves, combining extensive experience in North Carolina and South Carolina real estate closings with the kind of care and attention only a hometown firm can offer. We’re proud to be a local firm with over 50 years of combined experience that values personal service and relationships, not just transactions.
Our Team
Craig Johannesmeyer
Attorney/ Managing Partner

Craig lives just south of Charlotte in Fort Mill, South Carolina, with his wife, Catherine. Married since 2000, they have four children and have called the Charlotte area home for more than two decades. Before becoming an attorney, Craig spent ten years in banking and consumer finance, experience that continues to shape his practical, business-minded approach to the practice of law. He graduated cum laude from law school, earned Dean’s List honors every semester, and was inducted into the Order of the Crown Honor Society. Craig is a founding attorney of Johannesmeyer Law, PLLC, where his practice has focused on residential real estate. After many years of handling closings and helping build the firm, Craig now spends less time in the day-to-day closing practice and focuses more on the firm’s overall direction, operations, and continued growth. Outside the office, Craig’s priorities are pretty simple: faith, family, and finding time to enjoy life with Catherine and their four kids. With two sons already in college and two daughters still at home, life looks a little different than the years spent coaching youth sports from one field to the next—but being a dad remains his favorite role. When he has some free time, Craig enjoys traveling, staying active, playing pickleball, and following the Atlanta Braves. He still hasn’t completely given up on a few long-shot dreams, including competing on The Amazing Race or Survivor or somehow finding his way onto a Major League Baseball field.
Joanne Ballou

She primarily works out of the Rock Hill and Lake Wylie offices. She enjoys guiding clients through the home-buying process and helping them achieve their homeownership goals. Building lasting relationships with home buyers and real estate professionals is one of the most rewarding aspects of her practice. Joanne and her husband, Dan, who is also an attorney, have lived in Rock Hill since 1994. She is the proud mom of two adult daughters. Outside of work, Joanne enjoys spending time with family and friends, caring for her pets, and staying involved in her community and volunteer organizations.
Sally Carver-Young
Attorney/Partner

Licensed in S.C. & N.C. – Sally was born in Hawaii and lived in Puerto Rico, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia, as moving was just part of life as the child of a Marine.  After her father retired, her parents settled in Chapel Hill, NC where Sally finished high school and then attended N.C. State University where she graduated with a BS in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Business Administration (1995).  She then went on to law school at the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University (1999), in the old days when the law school was in Buies Creek, NC and not Raleigh.  After school Sally moved to Charlotte, NC for her first job as a litigation attorney.  She transitioned to residential real estate and opened an office in Rock Hill in 2002.  She married Darren in 2003 and had her first of 3 boys in 2006.  Being first and foremost a mom, in 2011 Sally wound down her own practice to be full-time mom and was blessed to continue to work as a contract attorney with local attorneys like Craig for the next 15 years.  With her children almost grown, Sally is thrilled to now be full time with Johannesmeyer Law where the staff already felt like family. Sally has focused her legal practice on residential real estate in North and South Carolina since 2001 and has been honored to assist thousands of families in their purchase of a home.  In her spare time, Sally spends time with Jesus, family and friends.  At home, at a ball field or tennis court watching her boys play, at the school volunteering, or relaxing at the beach or in the mountains, anywhere is good so long as she is with the ones she loves.
